Metallic Scraping/Rattling Sound

ok this just started up yesterday and i have no idea why or what it is. when i accelerate i hear this kinda of scraping, rattling sound, sounds like its from the passenger side. when i push in hte clutch it goes away, and when i just rev it doesn't do anything. i just had a new motor (92K miles) put in, checked the oil it looks a little low but thats it. i'm wondering if its tranny (tho i doubt it is) or suspension (which i think it is). any ideas?

does it do this while rolling with the clutch in or out? it could also be the tranny bearings going bad....usually the mainshaft bearings

my dad was guessing brakes, tho i didn't hear it when i pressed on the brakes, only when i'm accelerating. and i don't remember hearing it in neutral with hte clutch out either.
its gone now tho, has been for a couple days. i thought i heard it start to come back, but nothing.

yeah 1PhatCX, sounds like we may have the same problem, but my throwout bearing is new, replaced it with the clutch about a year ago maybe

my car does it too. its my clutch pedal that makes the noise kinda like a chatter, or rattling sound if i just put my foot on the clutch it goes away. i asked my mechanic and he told me some performance clutches have some chatter some more and louder than other. so i dont really know clutch still grabs good. so im gonna go with his word

just went through the same shit. EXACT same symptoms. first it was my pilot bearing had burned up and shattered into the bellhousing and was grinding like a mother. so i replaced that, and it started again, turned out my countershaft was broken, whatever that means... i couldnt get the two transmission halves apart so i took it to a shop and thats what they told me so i went and bought a used one and put it in myself
