Question 01 Intrigue, metal scraping noise?

Hello!
Recently (in the past few weeks anyway) I've noticed a noise coming from near the serpentine belt area of my engine. It sounds like metal on metal scraping (at least thats the best way I can describe it). It doesn't happen continuously, sometimes I'll hear it right when the car is started up and it will go away in like 5 or 10 minutes of driving, sometimes I'll hear it after driving for a little while (i.e. on monday I heard it when i got out of my car to punch in at work and the car was still running). The car seems to be running fine, feels like it always has.. what do you think this might be?

Thanks!

It probably is the alternator bearing or the idler bearing. You can locate it by using a stethescope or your thumb over a screwdriver on parts while running. Be careful!
