Digital Dashboard

I'm trying to see if there is a digital dashboard available for the Z28 (to replace the standard analogue one). Any clue? I tried websites and got nothing.

Thanks.

W.

There are ones available but there is a lot of fabrication involved.

More trouble than they're worth.

I'd like to take a look. Do you have any URLs?

Thanks a lot.

Just don't get a digital dash because you think it will be more accurate or something, because they're not.

Personally I prefer analog since you don't have to spend time reading whats on the dash, you just quickly look at a scale.

Cool Dashes...

Hello guys,

I checked several sites, and I see what you mean... But it's not what I mean... :-)

Did anyone of you have the chance to see the Golf GTI Special (2nd Gen) digital dashboard... it's not just raw numbers, speed is "pseudo-analog" with the light bar coming up from 0 to 200Km/H following a green-yellor-red lighting pattern. It's great, that's what I meant about dashes...

Any clue? :-)

Yes I have seen that before, but it's kinda pointless.
By breaking your speed range up into blocks you're giving it a resolution - one that's rather low in fact - and making your readings less accurate.

Say the blocks work in 5 kph instruments...
If your speed limit [where ever you are] is 100 kph, you'll speed up till you see the block come on that tells you 100, but the next won't come on till 105 kph. So some really anal cop could bust you for going 4 kph over the speed limit. It'd really be more likely to happen at low speed, like in a residential area or something.

Now this is all assuming that when the meter reads 100 kph, you're actually going 100 kph since speedometers are almost always off by a bit (+/-).

I would stick with traditional analog meters.
Just get one that looks real nice.

But if you still want it, it sounds like you found what you want.

Dash

But You're forgetting that the Golf's digital shows the "pseudo-analog" bars that you described as well as a HUUUGE digital reading. So no problem for the reading part :-)

But this does not answer my question... Can we find something like that for the Camaros?
