would it be cheaper and better to n/a a ls/vtec or b16b. which would have more hp in the end and which has better support.

if you wanna go n/a, i suggest you not go with those engines. the ls/vtec is mostly for the turbo application, since of it's taller gears. a b20 vtec is a good choice for an n/a. that or a b18c5. those would be one of my choices.

Actually an LS/VTEC is a great motor for NA. The hp/trq that it produces is amazing. Yes the longer gear ratios are best for turbo applications but that applies to the tranny and not to the motor itself. An LS/VTEC w/ a 98 spec ITR tranny is a deadly combination.

If you have a B16B, stick with it. There are stroker kits and aftermarket cams that still increase hp and trq not to mention ways to bump compression.

I want to do the same. I've freed about 10hp with an intake and exhaust but that's not enough... I'm content with it stock but if there are any worthwhile parts then I'm all for it.

get a set of equal lentgh header, maybe upgrade the cams/cam gears, and get a fuel and ignition upgrade.

lol, you sure know what you're talking about. Don't get the B18B for N/A because it has long gears, but get on the B20 train which has the exact same tranny! woo woo!

If you have a B16B, keep it. If you havn't bought a swap yet, a B16B is a waste of money. GSR motor with a portflow head, coated CTR pistons, cams, full exhaust and hondata will make a ton of N/A power and cost less than the B16b.

Yeah but then there's the installation time, dynotuning etc... where a B16B is already tuned to near perfection from the factory. I bought the "packaged deal" and can live without the little extra power a hooked up GSR could provide. I'm not saying either one is right or wrong, just a matter of if you know what your doing or not. I'm not a mechanic, and hooking up a GSR engine by paying a shop to do it all would way outcost a B16B.
