H22 vs H22a?
Whats the difference between an h22 and an h22a? Don't they both put out about 220 hp? I know that an h22a is more expensive whys that? Also, once i do a swap to an h22, will my intake and other engine components fit right on the h22 from my f22?

the H22a pushes 195 USDM and 200 JDM i think, the type S is the 220 HP one. and i think that the H22 is the H22a and some people just call it H22 and dont put the A cuz if you are talkign with someone who doesnt know what the H22 is i doubt the A is gonna help them understand, but in the b18's the letter is very important which is why you usually see the letter in discussions. at least that is my thought on the matter

if there was a difference between the two would it be something that had to do with the compression ratio like with the B18

I figured it would be something like H22A1 and A2 if it were anything like that but its just my gues about the H22 and H22A. but im pretty sure the numbers are correct.
also I think it is 156 ft/lbs USDM and 161 ft/lbs JDM. not sure about torque for the type S.

there is no h22, people just call it that. h22a is jdm. h22ax (x = a number) is usdm. but I think europe has the h22a2 something like that. and also theres the h22a7 which has 220hp and another one puts out 220hp but is just called h22a.

Oh, i thought the h22 was an engine itself, and h22a was just like a beefier version, i must have gotten it mixed up with the h22a and type s. Is the type s much more pricewise than an h22a?

Also, i saw some japanese engine importer in a magazine, and it said something about an h23? I've never heard of this. Does anybody know what it comes from and if it will fit, because i know an h22a is already a very tight fit. Oh yeah, im talking about my 90 accord.

its from a prelude SI, the S is the F22b2's which 94-97 accords have as well, amybe other years acords as well. the SI has the H23, and the H22a is in the vtec lude, and if the H22 will fit, so will the H23, but the H22 is beter IMO, tiny bit less torque but VTEC and more HP

h23's are non vtec with a bit higher displacement and are bigger then the h22s, my friend tried to get a 23 in his 5th gen but it wouldnt clear hoodline, i think the dif is that the 23 has a bit better torque

did he swap from a auto to manual as well. I saw a 5 speed from a 5th gen civic sedan go into a 5th gen hatch that was auto, and of course you have to use the manual trans mount, but the one on the frame itself was different, so the engine sits higher on left side now, but the hodd just has a dent on the inner skeleton, from the dist mount plate on top.

How much would it run me for an h22a swap and manual conversion, with parts and labor? Also, how much would just a manual conversion cost? Also, can i swap over all my f22 bolt ons to an h22?
