Flowmaster exhaust?
Has anyone tried it? I would like a deep quiet tone. i don't really like the "jap cans" unless one of those type produce a deep tone and not the typical whine.

Just don't go and buy a cheap muffler, and have Bucky's put it on.. That has been my mantra since I did it. What kind of car are you putting this on?

This topic has been dead for a little while, but I thought I'd add my two cents. I had a '93 Integra and I put Midas' answer to the Flowmaster on it. It's called a Ravin' exhaust.
The name is kinda cheezy, but it had a deep tone. My wife still heard me coming from a few blocks away, but it didn't have that wet 'fart pipe' sound. I just got an '86 Si, and it needs an exhaust. I will probably go with Flowmaster. I had them put on a '73 Ford F250 with a 460 V8. They have a nice deep tone to them. A little on the loud side, but there are different 'series' of Flowmasters. I think 50s are the loudest. They make quieter ones. Personally, I'll go with the quietest one I can find, coz I'm an old man (33) with a wife, two kids and neighboors who drive nice new Dodge pickups and Nissan Xterras. Oh, hi Bob....nice Lexus.....PRICK! I gotta drive old clunkers for a few more years so I can afford the next Prelude!

Oh yeah! I just remembered something else! When I had my '88 CRX Si back in '94 or so, I got an exhaust called Dynamax or Dynomax. This was before the import scene was real big. This pipe was fairly quiet and definately not rice. I didn't know about K&N filters, and I don't even think there was such a thing as a cold air intake at the time, so the car was stock except for fatter tubing from the cat back, the muffler itself, and the exhaust tips.

I myself heard that the flowmaster exhaust for imports sucked, i think its called the 60 series or something. i dont mean to bash ur post, but the flowmasters gonna sound different on every car, especially if uve heard it on a truck. Sure it sounds good on muscle cars, my dads got a 67 camaro, and the ond he gets out of his 20 series is amazing. In my opinion i think you should get a "jap can" because the car is japanese. ive heard good things about the greddy evo, and the tanabe super racing medalion.

Re: Flowmaster exhaust?
Well, the fact is that neither of us have driven an import car with Flowmasters on it. We're both just trying to give somebody opinions. No harm. No foul. I did, however put a Dynomax on an '88 CRX Si. And that was before the Jap cans came out. It sounded just a bit louder than stock, and gave noticeable performance gains. For what it's worth.

yeah, i havent driven one either, but my friend actually threw away his flowmaster because he hated it. I personally like the tanabe super racing medailion exhust though, its ndaexpensive but its really deep. plus anything hks makes is good, especially the dragger.

Pacesetter
Try a Pacesetter. I thought Pacesetter was kinda cheap but it was the only brand that had a cat/back for my 88 Prelude. I am satisfied with it. It has a low deep tone and is fairly priced.
