flowmaster exhaust hitting frame

does anyone here have the flowmaster force II exhaust system on the car. i just order from jegs and had it put on yesterday. sounds great, gave me all my power back that i lost with the last junk i had. anyways, its hitting the frame or something under the car. it sounds like theres something wrong with the rear or shocks. its clunks alot. i looked under it and i see that the muffler is hitting the floor pan/ frame i guess you can say. tight fit. does anyone else have this proplem, and if so, what have you done to fix it

Re: flowmaster exhaust hitting frame

yeah? its sounds like the rear has major problems. i guess its just the way it hits the frame. i was looking though, and it has clips that are welded on the pipes that are not used. theres no hangers for them to go to. its sucks alot of time, after market stuff always does this.

Re: flowmaster exhaust hitting frame

You need to loosen things up and re-position, or cut-off whatever extra hangars are hitting. I run a Force II catback and love it, no bangs or rattles, and it doesn't hit my aluminum D/S which is considerably bigger around than the stocker. It's all in the positioning of the pipes...

Re: flowmaster exhaust hitting frame

thats a good idea. i just called the place that did it and i told them to redo it. you think these shops would do it right. im better off doing this myself and save the money.hey, do you know if that system give you more power over stock. its hard for me to tell since i had a crap one on for the past 2 yrs. i dont know what stock was like.

Re: flowmaster exhaust hitting frame

Not sure, no dyno tests. didn't pick up any MPH in the quarter, though. Didn't lose any, either.

Re: flowmaster exhaust hitting frame

if you just recently had them installed in the shop they shouldnt charge for putting it back in the shop and have them fix the problem. just tell them what u want them to do.

ya shops can really screw you if you dont know them good. they might want you to get them welded on because thats what they wanted me to do. but i want to stay away from that. i am just going to try and reposition it and tighten it down alot and pray.

Re: flowmaster exhaust hitting frame

you mean the pipe that is connected to the factory Y pipe? also, do you guys have have the problem of this system setting low to the ground, you look under it and its not far off the ground. well not on the ground, but you know what i mean, lower that normal. i ran over a dead animal the other day thinking i would go over it and i look back and i was dragging it, i was like F***, this sucks and stinks, haha

no i was talking about the very top of the tailpipe hitting the frame by the wheel. yea mine sits pretty low too but the only problem i have is hitting the caps of the tanks at gas stations. it sucks but i wouldve loved to see the animal draging from your car lol
