Refurbish

What kind of machine work needs to go into making a 200,*** mile engine block/head like new again?

Would cryogenic tempering really be necessary, or just resleeving the cylindars, internal replacements, etc..

completely dismantle engine, check that all tolerances are within spec, reassemble, replacing anything that is out of tolerance, replace ALL gaskets and seals.

And this will be good enough for say... forced induction? The engine needs to be bulletproof.

Have a reputable shop clean and prep the block, and have them install some sleeves (I like darton MID sleeves) along with your new pistons and rods, and they'll take care of the rest. If you havn't built a motor before and are building a car to make a lot of power, don't make it be your first engine build.

I would have to resleeve for forged pistons anyway. I'm not trying to make something crazy, just something that gives me the power i'm looking for. 160HP is not enough.. 260 is adequate, and something I'd be happy with.
