refurbish and powerder coat rims

Hey, i have a set of 17" rims and they have a couple little scratches. They are currently machined surface, with the little grooves. I was thinking of either having them done white, gold, or gunmetal. I really like gunmetal, but i don't know if it is possible to power coat a rim gunmetal. Let me know if it's possible, and if so, what color to go with on my red car.

it should cost a bit to get them professionally powdercoated, but if you're looking to repair the wheels themselves and paint them, you might as well sell them and get a brand new set.... the labor plus powdercoating will cost too much, unless you have some 19 inch volks or ssr's heh heh

Any idea on the cost of the refinish and powerdercoat? I need new tires anyways, so i imagine it will end up cheaper, after having the tires taken off and put back on and what not....

Can anyone recommend any nice gunmetal or gold rims (i can find lots of gunmetal, but i'm having trouble finding gold/copper rims)

Thanks

i think powder coating is about 50-70 bucks a wheel... fixing rims is alot depending on what happened to it (dents cost about the price of a wheel)

hmm gunmetal would look nice!!
hmm what size are you looking ito? cuz the rim choice would vary based on size

17" for sure...i was thinking 18 for show, but they cost so much more and dampen performance...so yeah...17, let me know.

Do you think that gold would make my car look orange? That's what scares me about the gold....anyways, let me know

I'm not too keen on gold rims...only certain cars can pull it off...how about some Konig Heleliums.

i'm not sure... i think i've seen in a magazine a step by step of a wheel getting a gunmetal treatment, but gunmetal looks different from regular powdercoating

you could just drive around for a couple thousand miles with crappy brake pads...and get the same effect

And then both of you guys w/ you sewing maching powered cars get passed by a moped w/ a 5hp Engine and he goes on to put 5 car lengths on you. Racing an EX vs a DX is like a 10 speed bike vs a golden retriever.
