6G72 swap into a Galant GSX.....................

I hear tales of a swap like this being done , putting the 3000GT/Stealth motor into a Galant GSX ( AWD nonturbo ) , but I can't find any details. Anyone care to point me in the right direction?
I'm basically tired of the whole idea of converting this car to turbo and doing up the 4G63 the way countless other DSM'ers before me have done it. I wanna do something a bit different , which is why I'm considering this swap. Besides , I'm pretty sure the 3000GT/Stealth drivetrain is a lot more bulletproof than the DSM cars ?

Lots of reasons. For one , the car I'm using is a lot lighter at only 3000 lbs. And if it is done , there only a very few like it in the country. Try thinking outside your small world for a change.

Um , the Galant is AWD , and I plan on swapping the entire drivetrain from a 3000GT Twin-turbo /Stealth R/T TT into it , as well as the ECU and wiring and whatever else is necessary. Basically , it should fit. And I shouldn't have issues with frame fabrication , since the tunnel for the driveshaft is already in place , the gas tank shouldn't need to be moved , and the rear subframe is almost the same , except for the AWS parts , which I plan on removing anyway. I'm just asking If anyone's done this before , and what I need to watch out for , but If I have to go it alone , thats fine too.

Duuuuuude , I specified AWD in the first post , and read the sig. That's the car that's gonna be modded. I'd still appreciate any relevant information.

I thought you had a GSX not a vr-4? So you don't have the AWS to remove.......

No , I meant the AWS from the 3000GT diff , which I will have to use , since I know the stock GSX diff will not take the pressure.

OIC, got it now..... but;
Pressure? And what do you mean by this? The 3 bolt that it has can hold plenty of power to the right driver. And if you wanted to swap a 4bolt in you would be capable of holding even more. I like that fact you want something different, but if you want something rare you AND OR different you should just buy a Galant vr-4, rather than messsing with the headaches.......... Two years they entered the states, 1991 and 1992. 2 thousand of them in 1991 and only 1 thousand in 1992. So less than 3 thousand actally on the road in the USA.......

Pressure? Sorry , meant torque. And most every DSM racer upgrades to the 4-bolt LSD diff that was in the 92 cars. Lotta guys here have broken their 3-bolts , so I'll go with that. Of course , the driver may be at fault , as you say , but I'd feel safer with the 4-bolt diff. I may not use the 3000GT diff , because of the AWS , but I don't know how different the driveshafts are between the much smaller lighter DSM cars and the 3000GT. I'm also considering just doing a straight 4G63T swap , as a few others have done. It'll still be a fun fast car either way.
