Question Galant GSX, Can it be a VR4,should I buy a gsx?

Ok this is my question. i have the chance to buy a 92 Galant GSX, i dont know a lot about it though, i can buy it for $900.00 it has 130,000mi on it, and its a five speed, it drives pretty good, i drove it about 2mi or so. I own a 95 talon tsi awd and I love it. i know about the VR4 model whats the difference between the gsx and vr4 i didnt notice a turbo under the hood of the gsx, is there any difference besides that? Also is it gonna be a big deal to put a turbo on the nt 4g63 or should I just swap the motor? keep in mind it has over 130k on it. any help will be appreciated thanks!

they are both the same. Should be all wheel drive and turbo.

are you sure that the galant gsx is the same as the vr4, why did they give them different names? does the vr4 or gsx badge just denote a different trim level? like one has a sun roof and power seats and the other dosent?

Hey man, I'm sorry, but I think I shot off my mouth too soon.. It seems, after talking to my resident dsm guy, that I was wrong. The vr4 was the only one with the turbo, the gsx should be all wheel drive but no turbo. I'm still working on the swap details, but so far seems to be pretty straight forward.. Will let you know on that, and I am sorry on my mistake.. I really hate being wrong. I'll try harder next time..

No Worries, All is Forgiven. Im pretty sure the swap is straight foreward. All I was concerned with was the trans, and how much fab. I will need to do.

The VR-4 Shares the drive train with the ECLIPSE GSX they have a diffefent ECU than all of the other DSM's and they only imported 2000 in 91 and 1000 in 92 if you want a vr-4 I will sell you 53/1000 for 3000.00 I am in VA
