look on the block....right where the tranny meets the block. Below the valve cover to the left of the exhaust manifold. You will see a flat spot with a code on it.

If you a have a DX or CX you will have a D15B7 or something.......if you have an SI you will have a D16A6......but an easy way to see if you have an SI or a DX/CX is the intake manifold. If you have a big silver one and 4 injectors....you have an SI.....if you have a big round Black one....and 2 injectors....you have a DX/CX

The cluster could have been swapped in. How about you post some pics of this thing so that we can see. Could it possibly be a std. I know mine is a 4 speed Standard. Anyways welcome to the boards, and like I said b4 post some pics.

If its a DX engine in the fourth gen. it should say D15B2 or B1. Mine says D15B2 and its an 88 DX.

Yes YES... it says D15B1 .. so that means i have an 88 DX? .... ok FINALLY ... after all that trouble... i had to wipe off some hard grease to find that flat panel that shows the engine number.. damn this car was kept in bad condition.. hope i can give her a good home.. haha..

Alright now that i know what kind of engine i have i know what i can do to my car .. or what engine i'd like to swap in it ... |

thanks all of you .. i relaly appreciate your help .

Its not a DX. the d15b1 comes in the STD (standard) engine. It is 70 HP.

ok so i have a 1.3 litre... D15B1 STD 4 speed manual .... will this limit me from performing any mods? .. or would it be better to swap the engine and transmission entirely?
