Question 1972 Dart engine problems. Please help out

After about 50 miles the engine overheats. I havent recieved the car yet but purchased it for cheep . Is there a problem that happens a lot with this car are is it just mine. If so does anybody have any ideas

I would check the cooling system, also could be a bad head gasket(s).

Something like this could be a number of problems. Coolant system, bad head gasket (like Polygon stated), ignition timing, fuel mixture, etc. Check out the easiest ones first....

I dont think it will be to bad of a problem. While im checking the overheating 340 out i could probably pop one of my stepdads engines in that he has sitting in the garage.

Ok, so bring that badass 340 over here and let me "test" and tweak it out for ya! I promise I won't behave with it!
