AE86 or EF8?

hey in a couple of months i'm gonna be buying a car i really like the ae86 and the ef8 currently i have a 90 honda civic dx in piss-pore shape if i go w/ the ef i'm gonna buy a better engine for it and if i go w/ the 86 i'm prolly not gonna do jack to the engine, i guess my current civic is how i developed the interest in civics and so far i've only read about the 86, seen shows about, and talked to car buffs about it. have simular knowlege of the ef closest thing i've come is my crappy dx.

well what do you guys think i should do?

for the fun factor, i'd pick the 86. BUT a 86 isn't an 86 w/o some sort of LSD.

for the speed, i'd go EF. so much EASIER in terms of parts availability to make a honda fast compared to making an 86 fast.

you have everything ranging from ZCs to B20s depending on how deep your pocket is for the honda and you don't need a lot of custom fab stuff for the engine bay to fit these motors.

you can't say the same for the 86

I admit, i know nothing about Civics, but are they RWD, cuz if they are, id go wioth the Civic, but i hugely dubt that, so ill just go with toyota, since i prefer them to hondas

if your gonna go as far as to call toyotas sewing machines on wheels technically hondas are motorcycles w/ 2 extra wheels.

basically w/ honda i'de be practicing my left foot braking and w/ toyota heal-toe method. i'm prolly gonna sink $8k us into whichever car i get.

oh and people please use the poll thingie at the top.

miata?????
ewww, disgusting.
1, i hate anything w/ a trunk i perfer hatchback or wagon.
2, if i wanted something from the 90s why would i be asking which totally 80s car would be more fun.
3, if i really wanted a mazda i'de get the real mazda w/ the rotory engine, an old rx-7. but can nither afford the repairs of an old one, nor the insurance of owning a real sports car. hence would also be a problem w/ the miata, if i even did want one which in my openion are bubble cars, me no like.

ae86 parts are harder to find since the car is over 20 years old, so i'd say get the EF.
how about an s13/s14 silvia/240sx?

i've really been thinking that's the best idea. i'm thinking of a 91 red black or blue civic si.
