Mine had broken also (Read: pain in the ass) I did a search for the throttle position sensor (used parts) on the internet(about 2 yrs ago) recieved emails back with price qoutes picked the best one and called up and ordered over the phone.

they sent me an entire distributor with T.P.S. on it. I had to grind in slots and unscrew the screws.

Sorry don't rember the actual website , but is was a junk yard.

Ok - having driven a car that someone reset the TPS on, all I can say is find a throttle body with the TPS still sealed on it. Reason being that you will never get the setting right without the correct equipment - that being the reason why Honda seals the screws when they factory fit them. For me it was a case of spending the equivilent of US$50 and bolting a complete throttle/TPS unit on and I've never looked back.

BTW sbninja - TPS is on the throttle, not the dizzy

Cheers

hey Setanta, how do you know if your sensor is on wrong? I had to put a new one on my ZC because it came broken. I put a new one on and it was throwing the TPS code. I adjusted it a little and now theres no code. Does this mean its seated correctly or could it still be wrong?

P.S. What does setanta mean? is it spanish?

All you need to do is set the TPS so that it reads 0.5 volts closed throttle and 4.5 volts WOT..

Mine had the bolts removed and new ones screwed in. It also idled at 2500rpm hot (ouch) and when I fixed/replaced the cold idle valve the idle jumped up and down all over the place. Replacing the TPS solved it and it idles stock as a rock.

BTW - I know about the voltage settings - but you can never quite get it spot on - I tried along with a few others and got nowhere - almost, but not quite and the difference between trying to fix it and bolting on a new TB was 15bhp! Beats me why, but seeing as it cost me next to nothing, I'd suggest the replace option every day of the week

Setanta is Irish. It's the non-warrior name of Cuchulainn, an ancient legendary warrior from Ulster. I've used it online since I first logged on, mostly from a fascination with Celtic mythology that I developed at Uni.

Cheers
