Fault Code 42

My 92 Cavalier has a problem. The engine light comes on frequently.

When I extract the fault code, it flashes 42, which the Haynes books says is something to do with a connection problem between the computer and the ignition module.

Has anyone out there had this problem and how was it rectified?

Thanks

Jim Baker

Two things cause this code.
1. A bad ECM.
2. A bad ignition module.

One of the two will cure your problem.
