fault codes G. Marquis
Could any one tell me how to check the fault codes on a 90 G.Marquis and where to access their interpretations?

You could get a code reader, they're on Ebay once in a while for under $100. Ford charges $70/hour for readings, and if you use it a few times - it's paid for
.Other than that - you could use the test light plug in method, and count the blinks - then figure out by accessing the info as to what's wrong. Have you found out what your problem is? If you want to clear the code after doing some work (Oxygen sensors, plugs, EGR?, etc), simply disconnecting the battery and hooking it up a few minutes later WILL clear the memory of all codes. BTW - check out www.crownvic.net .

Re: fault codes G. Marquis
There is a way to get much cheaper readings.
I'll post it later, when you want it, but you can both ends of a bent paper clip, each in one hole of the Code adapter in the engine compartment. Then use a Voltmeter to read the "swipes" to figure the codes. It's a $40 solution. |
