Secondary Air Injection Fault Code
Car = 99' bmw 540i
I just got a new check engine problem, OBD II shows P0491 and P0492 which are Secondary Air Injection System Bank 1 and 2. Does anyone know what this is and what I should do?? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks to all

The secondary air injection pump is an emissions control device. It is the round part near the passanger side of the car with a hose connected to it from the front of the car. It pumps air into the exhaust manifold. It has a filter piece on the top of it. Maybe it's clogged.
