What kind of...
Waht kind of wax do you guys use to polish? I was thinking about maybe getting some expensive one, but then I thought maybe the cheaper ones would do too, since it is just a model.

Tamiya's stuff is okay, but I use a modeling wax called "The Treatment" (actual product name) that is absolutely fantastic. I can wax flat lacquers with it and get a decent shine. Though it has been known to burn through paint on sharp edges.

ive had some excellent result with good old Turtle Wax, its reasonably cheap, you get loads, sorted
I usually apply about 3 coats one after the other and you can see your face in the shine . . .

Ok, Thanks guys. I don't know what I'm going to get yet, but I think that I might just have to get the Car waxes. My local hobby shop is about 8 1/2 hours from where I live. I don't get to build a lot of models.

Same as I use on my real cars..
Autoglym Paint Renovator Autoglym Super Resin Polish Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection Really it all depends on how much the paint job needs it... Sometimes you'll find you don't need any. |

I did'nt think there was anywhere in WY that was 8.5 hrs from Denver...
Maybe thats just via Supra! lol Most automotive wax products are polish/waxes that contain both abrasives and solvents, both of which can harm your finish. Be careful and test on a 'scrap' body first. I've used Maguires yellow "high tech" wax and I use the treatment wax now, when I get a chance I'll get some of the Tamiya wax to try.

Hey, how did you know that the local place was in Denver? Since you live pretty close, have you been to Bob's World of Hobbies or whatever that place is? That place is so great. I love going there. My dad does drive kind of slow. I wish he would drive faster. Its supossed to only be about 7 hours, but... |

Bob's is OK. You should get to Colpar in Aurora or Lakewood though.
Here's a link, they ship and they can order almost anything for you. http://www.colpar.com/
