Cool V-12 powered Revell BMW 750iL

This is a model I built about 10 or 12 (or more...) years ago-Revell of Germany's BMW 750iL. Not a bad kit at all, lots of detail but not up to Tamiya or Fujimi Enthusiast quality level. The original wheels looked like crap, so I bought a Shabak dealer promo for better wheels (and resold it w/o them-I wanted good stock rims on the kit). I also sanded the upper body sides to thin out the too-thick section, which also removed some nasty sink marks, resulting in the body looking just right. The engine/interior detail is really nice, the hood hinges are a work of art-working four bar linkages. The trunk lid was awful trying to get it to work and to fit when closed.

I cleaned it off today, I need to give it a bit more TLC and polish and put it into a showcase. I would do a better/cleaner job of building it now, but it's still satisfying to look at today w/a little bit of dust and faded chrome (just like a real used car).

Excellent build! I also have one, but painted it black with tan. Its a very nice, unique kit with great detailing. Of course, I had fit problems too! Glad to see you post some pics of this rarely seen model. I like your other works too!

Nice!

I wish I'd bought the 8 series when they were around.
