An early 80's Trans Am.

Here is Monogram's original 1982 Trans Am kit, built stock, out of the box. I don't know if the real car came in this color scheme but I liked the combo. The only non-kit additions are rub-on tire transfers from Shabo Scale.

And here's a side view. In looking at these pictures, I forgot that the rear wing was scratchbuilt as I had stolen the kit's wing to build a replica of my Mom's '89 Taurus SHO, which has since been stripped and is in the process of being rebuilt.

Looks sweet, I don't like the wheels though, would look best on a bush basher

Should put some 18s on it with low profiles, those tires look like they are solid plastic!

Coolness! That was the first model I built way back when it was a new release! I didnt paint anything while building it, but decided to try after it was already completed. I probably built 20-40 of those kits in the following years. I used to love Knight Rider when I was a kid, and the car in particular. I actually had two real `84s a while back, one looked just like the model except for the wheels. It was only 165hp!!

The first year with that body style was `82, and it lasted until `92. Same with the Camaros. The only changes were added panels, different wheels, different engines and other minor items throughtout all those years.
