Question Need some answers

Okay, my girlfriend has a 96 civic LX(auto) and she wants to get a header for it. I have read that the 96-00 civic LX cant have a header because the cat and the intake manifold are all right there up front. I dont care if I have to NOT use the cat in order to put a header on, I just want to know if a header will bolt up right. And if it will, can I just buy ones that are advertised to fit 96-00 ex's. If I cant, then does anyone know where I can get one that will fit right?I really just want to know if I can put one on with LITTLE to NO rigging? All serious help will be most appreciated.

yeah if you get a header for 96-00 ex it will bolt right up, but then you will need totake it to a muffler shop so they can weld an extension to connect the header and the rest of the exhaust and you may also have to have some o2 sensor bungs welded in. does the car have 1 or 2 o2 sensors. if it has one then all you have to do is bolt on the header and just take it to the muffler shop so they can connect it. you can also still have a cat converter, just buy a high flow cat like random technologies or carsound and bolt on the hyeader then take the car to the muffler shop and tell the to make it work meaning for them to find out how can they integrate the cat in the exhaust system. they can probably put it right after the header and maybe they will have to cut the exhaust pipping a little then weld it all together.

YOu can go ahead and buy the aftermarket header personally i woould go with the powercore 4-1 header, and then just buy an after market high flow or stock cat for an ex and it would be put underneath the car like all other honda's and such, but i believe u will need to get new exausht piping for it to all go together and have a shop weld it all together, but the headers will just bolt right up to the exausht manifold, and then the cat will bolt up to the header underneath the car, but the stock lx piping will be to long so you will have to go to a local muffler shop and have them cut new piping from the end of the cat to the sock exausht and weld the piping to the cat and to the exausht. It wont be to expensive around here you can have new pipe cut and it all welded together for about 50 bucks.

P.S. Dont for get to check the flanges on the cat, and make sure to put a new gasket on the new header before you put it on or you could get leaks.

Some one correct me if i am wrong on any of this.
