SOO is a competition between the two fiercely competive states of QLD and NSW (GO the blues!). That happens accross I think 5 games to decide the years winners.
All Blacks/Wallabies etc. are Union, international teams. AFL is different again, completely different. It is popular everywhere except Queensland and involves heaps less violence  http://www.nrl.com.au/ Try here for more info. Anything else?  Oz

League is a more strategic game, Union is really all brawn when you put it in terms of black and white.
As for the teams : Wallabies - Australia. All Blacks - NZ (represent!). Springboks - South Africa (represent!), etc etc...(forget the other teams  )
