HEY! You're from Arkansas! Go to www.arimport.com

And for your question, you will have to swap the crossmember with a WRX or Legacy Turbo crossmember.

AWD

my impreza I believe is the fwd L model, not real sure though. how hard would it be to put an awd drivetrain on it? and what transmissions and all would be compatible with the EJ20T engine. oh and how much horsepower is the EJ20T putting out? Well i guess thats about it, thanks!!

You're not sure if your car is a FWD?

If you look under the back is there a differential nestled under there?

The Subaru 5 speed transmission was designed in the early 80's, and is pretty much the same ever since. I assume the EJ20 you're wanting to get is from a WRX? Pretty much any Subaru 5 speed will bolt onto it, and an AWD swap should be as simple as just getting all the parts. Probably be a good idea to find a cheap AWD Impreza or Legacy to use for a parts car to do it. If you found a Legacy turbo you could use the crossmember too. Hell you could just get a Legacy turbo and swap the engine, crossmember, transmission, and drivetrain, and you'd have a 2.2 turbo AWD Impreza, and leave the WRX out of it completely probably be a bit cheaper that way. That's what I would do anyways.

fwd or awd

I just found the car at these people house that I know. it has four flats and the guy says that it will not start and he thinks it wont run at all. They said I could have it if i could get it out of their driveway. Its in perfect condition interior and out except for a dent on the driverside right behind the door. all I know at this point is that it is an impreza L. I do believe it is FWD because of the wheels (13 in) and its a 5 speed manual with a 1.8L . If the motor is blown I will probably swap it with something. I am new to Subaru and know very little and I cant find any information. if any one can give me any websites to look up info on I would appreciate it.

What model Legacy to look for? and how much horsepower is the 2.2L turbo packing. oh and I checked out the website you gave me, pretty nice but everything seemed circled around Fort Smith. And you are the only Subaru

Yeah, I'm the only Subaru so far unfortunately. The site started as pretty much Ft Smith, but it's been spreading out, that's why it seems more Ft Smith focused, but there are people on there from little rock and area. You heard of Polk Performance in Bryant? That place rocks for anything car related. Anyways, the owner and a few of their employess are on there, and some other L.R. people. It usually gets busy on that site about 10:00 at night, and they'll be online then.

Off the top of my head, I think the Legacy turbo was 205hp? Search www.nasioc.com and you can find anything you could possibly want to know about Subarus.
