300 bucks and an IOU

K so for my birthday (woohoo) my gf gave me something really neat.

She doesn't dare and buy anything for the 6shooter, whom I've labeled (Tang 1)... and instead gave me an IOU for a new Air Filter from K&N.

I've compiled 300 bucks over the last two months (very hard!) and am deciding to use it very wisely. The Air Filter will be free, but that's not the question.

I've heard that the current air intake leading up to the naifold is kind of poopy. Should I get a kit that includes the K&N filter (which would be free for me... shes payin for it lol)... or is it safe enough to just do the no hassle switch-er-oo? I wouldn't mind the Kit I'm jsut wondering if I should get it and install it also.

Also I was thinking about geting a throttle body spacer spacer
seen here:

http://www.rpmoutlet.com/musv6helix.htm

Most of that stuff seems like BS but I like the idea of increased gas mileage for 100 bucks.

What do ya think I should do with 300 bucks? Toss me some options so I can think twice about buying anything.

uuuuuuuughhhhh

I was just looking at the millions of header/exhausts out there... and why oh why are they compatible with only 1 or two different exhausts?!?!?!

Ok so If I bought the borla Exhaust, how do I find the H pipe that will complement it and the headers (I dont think Borla makes v6 headers...)

I still have much more to look through when it comes to headers/exhaust... so keep those suggestions to baby talk...

If there's a shortage of things that you want to do, just remember that a "good" muffler shop can fabricate the piping for an exhaust for a decent price. Just depends on what you need...

Figure out what you want, and then go from there

Don't knock it... it has sentimental value.

I've almost died about 3 times in Tang1... I say almost because the car has never actually gone over the edge.

Most were weather issues and the fact that there is no possible way to do a donut w only a front sway bar... its impossible i tell you.

I also like the idea that getting more horesepower from the 6shooter means that I have 200lb weight advantage... kind of like the Mazdarx8 losing 200lbs in it bhp area... and the smiles I get when I torched that camaro with a v6...

Dreams a dream, so live it

I was looking at the prostreet mufflers... listened to the various sound bytes... and I like them.

Now how about that intake kit? The spacer?

cut it down to three types now

I looked at the full systems from Spintech... a whole 25 bucks less than the full borla system (hmmm). I went to mustangexhaust.com and listened to all the 3.8 sound bytes. Go check it out and see how cool the v6 can sound!

Im torn between the raven mufflers, the borla mufflers and NO (!) Muffler sound. I think the no muff would be illegal? It still sounds better than flowmaster lol.

But 825 or 850 is not wha tI have... guess I'll just keep saving it and buy a lamborghini .thefinger.

yea, no mufflers are illegal, and yes all cars sound better with no mufflers, but do you have headers on your car yet?

.

I don't think I would waste my time buying the spacer. They don't increase anything for an S-10's V6 and I doubt it would do anything for a V6 Mustang.
