89 LX for 300 bucks..

a friend of my little brother has an 89 LX. Its grey with 130,000 miles. The body appears to be in immaculate condition and the interior is nice as well. He only wants 300 for the car but i coud probably get it for 250.

The problem--
he says the timing belt broke and he changed it, hasnt ran right since. It was also overheated. This tells me it needs a head. Well guess what...when i bought my DX, it had a brand new d15b2 head on it because, if you remember when i first showed up to the board, i had a HUGE cloud of smoke. (the dealer replaced the head, it didnt stop smoking, so he sold it to me for 100 dollars).

basically, i can get an immaculate 89 LX for 250-300 dollars..I have some money saved up from taxes and shit that i was going to use to buy an engine swap but my disease makes me want to buy this car just to have more 4th gens.

btw, my older brother just bought an 89 LX as well so im trying to get my whole family addicted to the H.

just thought i'd ramble.

Go for it. I got mine for free and it needs very little work and that one sounds like its mint for cheap so go for it. I will be selling a lot of stock parts once I get back from college for the summer so if you can hold out til then i can sell u a head off of mine for really cheap since i dont need it or the whole block if u want. I will post everything once I get out of school.

I paid $7000 for mine - in 1994 it only had 60K on it..

If you haven't already bought the car, you should Yo...you can swap/part out the electric windows power locks and cruise control and shit...I think those parts alone are worth more than $300.

If you wanna keep it, swap in that head you have or do a cheapy ZC motor swap or something..make it your beater car with a li'l pep
