Idle Problem in 305 TPI

I have a 1986 Trans Am with the 305 TPI that seems to have a problem where it won't idle at all. When I start it, the engine fires, but will just die, and not even try to run. If I open up the throttle when I start it, it runs normally, until I let off, and again, it just quits, like I turned the key off. Any ideas? At first I thought it possibly could be a mass air flow sensor issue, but then I figured if it was an issue with that, it would probably try to idle. Any help is greatly appreciated.
