SR20DET s13 or s14?

Hey i was wondering if neone could gimme some advice on the sr motor.
I want to purchase one but i cant decide wether to get the s14 blacktop or the s13 retop. I know the s14 has vvt and that, thats basically the only difference between the two (besides ones older etc etc) and umm i was wonderin if the vvt would be a good feature to have with higher boost at like 19psi or if it wouldnt be as good and that the s13 motor would be better...or would it even matter? also i have heard of guys using s14 or s15 blocks with s13 heads? is that because the s13 doesnt have vvt and the s15 block is better so they put the two together? Neone who has ne advice reply to this. Especially people with sr20det's which is the best or they all the same? remember its between the s13 and s14.
thanx.

theres more differences between the s13 and s14 than just vvt. the s14 has a more efficient turbo (t28 compressor in a t04b housing with a t25 turbine) , capable of about 270hp. also, it features a low port design as opposed to a high port design on the s13.

the vvt doesnt really have much to do with boost....but if your wanting to boost above 1 bar of pressure, you should upgrade to the z32 mafs, metal head gasket, injectors, tuned ecu etc.

lol no i know there is more then that and i know what the s14 has i am jus wondering and i am plannin on goin jus over 1 bar i know to tune all those things i aint dumb. ah but my question is kinda like i know it wont affect boost but like basically which is better for the money? the s13 is a bit cheaper and availability is alot better...and i am not really interested in all those other things like better turbo n shit on the s14 cause it'll all be replaced neways so is s13 the one lol? jus cause vvt is the only main difference i am concerend bout like all the other things i dont care bout.

its really up to you, i wanted the s14 because it had low miles, and it had a nice turbo out of the box (since i'm not replacing it till later on). it sounds like your swaying towards the s13....so go with that.

In that SSC Issue a while backthey had a comparison and they said if you what to keep the stock turbo the s14-15 is better but if your putting on a Aftermarket turbo the S13 is the way to go.
