Cant Get Bitch Pin Out!

Hi,

I am tryin to get my shifter rod out of my tranny and it is not coming out.
I took off the clip and then I tried taking the pin out to disconnect the rod.
The toruq rod is easy enough but the shift rod is a biotch to get out.
I tried hammering it with punch and even a screwdriver.
Someone told me that u have to have a special tool for this or u wont be able to get it out ever.
Thanks

Anyone got any ideas as to what to use to get this pin out?
Once I get the pin out I can finally take out the D15.

I used a screwdriver thats just the right size for the hole and I punched it out with a hammer, you just need a right sized screwdriver

if you are just pulling the engine and tranny you can leave that pin in and not worry about it... just disconnect it from the shifter and then disconnect the stabilizer from the tranny... that makes life a whole lot easier...

I couldn't get mine off. I just disconnected the linkage from the body and dropped the tranny out of the bottom then the engine out of the top.

Ok,

Where exactly is the stabalizer bar on the tranny?
Or are you talking about the torque rod?
Thanks

Just detach the hole shifter and assembly so that it all hangs down, then drop your engine out and all that and take the shift linkage off with the tranny on the ground, I assume YOu're talking about the right pin, it's under the rubber where the linkage goes in the tranny. ONe you get it out it'll be easy, that linkage cant have any pressure on it or that pin will just get tighter and tighter and the torque rod/stabilizer bar creates pressure so just unbolt everything back at the shifter and drop the engine with all that on there.

to get mine out, i took a bolt that was the exact size of the pin. then i used a dremel grinder bit to grind away the end of the bolt around the edge so there was a little nipple thing to fit inside the hole in the middle of the pin. then i hit it about 3 times and it came right out.

The best thing to use is a rounded centerpunch tool....

But I agree with the last post, if your in a pinch and cant get out to get the tool.....a small bolt should do the trick.

Aren't those little fukkers tapered? You might try hitting it from the other side.

The last time I did my trans, I just dropped the whole dam thing, seeing how my good trans had the stupid little weight cut off the linkage already.
