What does dsm mean?
What does dsm mean? Dosent Start Much? That is the only thing ive heard for it and i dont think that is right. Please tell me if im wrong.

1st generation was a little faster but not much but it was ugly in my opinion. 2g are fast and they look awsome. and mitsubishi screwed up with the 3g by makin it slower (no turbo).

Yes. The 3g is the 2000+. Quite different from the 2g
Diamond Start Motors was a joint venture between chrylser and mitsu. The name comes from the diamond in the mitsu logo, and the star for the chrysler logo.  The company dissolved in 94, but most 95s like mine still have the DSM tag on the firewall. The two companys still work together on a lot of cars.

Just FYI on the history of DSM, started in the late 80's when Chrysler bought half of Mitsubishi. The brainchilds were the T/E/L (Talon, Eclipse, Laser) Chrysler sold 25% of is share back to Mitsu in 94, the death of the Laser. However, Chrysler held onto the last 25% until 97. That's why the Talon's stopped in 97 and all 89-97 T/E/L have a DSM badge.
