What does MY** mean?

I notice in some magazines and tech sheets for the WRX there is a MY99, MY01 etc etc.. my question is - what does the MY mean? is it Model-Year?

Makes sense to me, but I'm not 100% sure. My friend is gonna get a 2001 dark blue Impreza. I guess it will be a MY01 Impreza.

Great guess! MY does stand for 'model year', and the numbers identify the year (obviously).

Bringing up an old topic, do they come in dark blue? if so thats what i'm getting, forget black!

Yeah, they do come in their traditional dark blue rally color. There seem to be a lot of them on the road now in that shade... I think I would stick with black, however, since they are less common and with the blacked STi headlights, it would look like a stealthy, menacing sleeper. Plus you can get carbon fiber galore and not worry about looking excessively flashy. Well that's just from my standpoint. I don't like my cars looking TOO showy, since the car & car parts theft in L.A. is pretty harsh.

My mom just got a dark blue 2.5RS fivespeed. Not real fast, but all kinds of fun to drive. I see mostly silver ones around here.

My school is near a Scooby dealership, so I tend to see just about every kind every day. That cream yellow is not bad, it's a tiring color; black is timeless.

I think black is best for this Impreza. The WRX I test drove was the maroon color, and I'm not fond of it at all.
