I have read alot in this forums about paint/spraying/dyeing the interior, and learned the way to do it myself. My question is...after all the pre-work of wha i am spraying, and then spray on the primer..would it be better to spray white on the primer and then the color (blue) over the white coat? Would that have a better result than just spraying it directly on the primer? I assuming we going to use G2 interior spray paint and their primer....
Also...i was wondering how do they do their seats? IN my integra, it's has leather seats in black...and i want it in blue and white or silver...does anyone know how most people get their seat colored beside going into shop to have it done? And what kinda paint do they use on the seats? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks |

I'm not quite sure about spraying white first. When I did my old car's interior...I did all my sanding, cleaning and prep, then sprayed a few coats of red (the trim was red...go figure)..and the results were great...but it's something to try. If you have an extra piece of trim laying around somewhere (you could always get a piece from a junkyard for next to nothing)...try one piece with spraying white first, if you like the results, then do it. If not, don't. I don't think I'd personally like the results, though. If you didn't spray enough of the blue over it, you'd get a little bit of that white hue coming through...but if you spray plenty, I think you'd be OK.
The seats...I'm not quite sure, although I have heard of people using some kind of clothing dye you can get from walmart. It was on a car show once...where they dyed their carpeting with this stuff. I'd assume it'd work on seats fine...but for best results, I'd go to a shop, IMO.

sounds like its going to be nice....i think you should try both to see what looks best on your dash....i think if you spray alot of blue over the primer you will be fine just remember to use a lot of thin caots and not one or two big ones....then shoot with clear and see what you get.....also you could go with colored leather if you wanted to Check out Autoleathers.com they have all kinds of good colors and their kits include front rear seats and console and door panals. if you install it yourself it may run about $1,000 if you get it professionaly done it may run you about $1,600....keep us updated and send us pics

yea, i'ma start as soon as the ride finished with the body kit and paint job, i will go ahead and order some g2 interior paint for the vinyl parts in the interior and use krylon fusion for the plastics. And i think i am going to try the seats tutorial in the "important" post to see if it would come out nice, i would post some pics as soon as i get it done..though it might take some time.
