GTS to GTS-T cam conversion?
Whats the story here afreind of mine seems to think that these may help the GTS-T rev out better as they are slightly lumpier.Has anyone got any ideas?:grey:
Also I sometimes pull out the fuse for the four wheel drive on the GTS-4 for a bit of a play has anybody fitted a swith for this and is very easy?:sun: |

I've heard the cam has a longer duration and is similiar to the HKS 271 grind..
I'm not sure if it gives more up top.. but i have heard it gives you more off boost torque... down low... I think thats the number.. I saw it posted around here some where...

They give you a better low end. But they are better then the DET cams throughout the entire power range. Similar to the HKS 272 grind. I have them on my car. You need to adjust your timing alot to comp for the longer duration. But I've been screwing with mine for 2 years now. I have my cams gears set completely different then stock.
If you don't want your car to big block(idle rough) then don't do it. I like the deep rumble so I don't mind. WD

Sounds like a plan. I guess the cams in a GTS-4 are the same as a GTS-T.
How much would a set of RB20DE cams go for? I have a switch on my GTS-4, I just made it from the fuse, easy. Ben

Do I remember correctly from an earlier discussion about this, that you can't do the same (with GTS25 cams) in an R33 GTS25t????? I think someone said something to do with the variable cam timing in the 25t.

When I pull out the fuse the ABS light comes on so assume that I'm driving with out ABS is there any way around this (maybeI might be able work around this by adding another fuse.

Hi guys,
After reading about this before on a previous thread, I thought that I might check it out. I got myself a set of non turbo and turbo cams from R32 skylines and after measuring them up I found out that the lift and profile of the two cams were identical. I couldn't find any difference between the two. So can you explain how the non tubo cams can be better than the standard cams that are in the turbo skylines. Thanks Tom.

Weird.. I thought so too since they can't be that much different as they would not fit then..
Raptor, you don't have ABS when you pull the fuse.. i suppose the only wasy arround it is with a Torque split controller..

The lift is the same. The duration is different. If you increase or decrease the lift you'll need new valves and springs. These cams have got to be different. If I install them without changing my timing the car runs like complete crap. However, I'll take a set over to my machine guy and have him measure the duration differences. Just so we can clear this up.

Sounds like a plan sam
Raptor, there are plenty of Torque controllers available... they are not too cheap though.. HKS make one. Who needs ABS when they are skidding anyway?? Ben

on the subject of valvetrain , I have a couple of sets of GTR valvesprings I am going to experiment with , and changing the hydraulic lifters in a RB20 to solid , see how much power I can get from one , I want over 250kw @ wheels for the drift car , and I also want 8500 rpm , because it sounds soo good.
