1/24 BMW 3.5 CSL Gosser

Arii kit plus Studio 27 decal, Renaissance wheels and lots of scratch building. Most of the work went to the rear fender, but I still didn't get it quite right. Perfect replica is not my expertise. The decal required test fitting and trimming in some areas; the quality was top-notch nevertheless. I didn't take any progress pictures, but would be happy to answer questions. Cheers.

Beautifully done! Think this is the first one of these I've ever seen actually built. Love it!

Awesome finish and super clean. I have started one of these and have not done the louvres on the rear wings (fenders). You have made the effort and they look fantastic! I have glued the doors shut for a better fit. I assume you did the same as they look great.

Re: 1/24 BMW 3.5 CSL Gosser

Thanks for the comments. I think the Arii kit offers a good body to modify on. At minimal, a set of BBS rims would make the CSL look good. I don't recommend the Renaissance wheels because of poor quality. The recent release from Hobby Design has way better casting.

@Viccario: I did glue the doors shut. The louvres were inserted while I widened the rear fenders. From the internet pictures, the Gosser CSL seems to have significantly wider rear fenders.

Re: 1/24 BMW 3.5 CSL Gosser

Thanks Helico, yes you are right I hadn't noticed that the rear wings are wider, I also didn't notice the extra detail you have added on the front spoiler and the additional fuel filler/vent on the boot! Well done, I managed to miss all of these details when doing my one!

Re: 1/24 BMW 3.5 CSL Gosser

Very nice paint and work. I wish someone would do a good BMW CSL kit. I like the 1972/73 works cars best but the Luigi cars were also very nice. I had several real 3.0 CS's wich I sold years ago. Luckily the cars I replaced them with are going up in value just as fast.

Amazing, simply amazing!
When I look inside the ARII box, IŽd never thought a result like this was possible.
