1/43 Ferrari GTO Evoluzione

Hello all. This is my first completed project and I hope you will like it.

This is a 1/43 Ferrari GTO Evoluzione by Starter. Typical Starter kit which comes with plenty of errors and little detail. The overall proportion looked a bit off to me, in particular the A pillar and the roof which I decided to rebuild them. The interior came in a single-pieced mold with dash board, seats and the entire cockpit all in one. Again, scratch-building the whole cockpit became necessary. Since this was my first 1/43 project, I had a hard time scaling things down to a proper 1/43 ratio. So bear with me if something looks awfully big for 1/43.

The resin quality is surprisingly good. No bubble at all. Panel line is also quite sharp. Pillars were made from styrene. Wind shield and other windows were scratch built to fit the new roof line.

The cockpit was chopped into several pieces. The seats were sanded to remove seat belt, molded and re-casted. Here is a picture showing the evolution of the seat.

Here is the PE seatbelt set from Eduard. It came pre-painted but the paint was easily chipped.

Here is the complete model painted with Tamiya TS paint.

I decided to try something new by mounting the model in to an IKEA picture frame. I secured the model with steel wire looping through the four wheels axes.

Hope you all like the project. Comments are always welcome.

That looks great, you've done a fantastic job on the modifications and of course the way to display it also deserves compliments. It also helps that I really like the actual car as well

Excellent!...I would like to give a little tip, if you allow me,..red cars have a better look if the panel lines are given with a darker red or brown wash. It just my impression, you did great on this one that I know it's not aneasy one. Starter use to do a lot of nice subjects, but, not great quality.

Super build

The quality of your work makes the small 1/43 scale look twice as big!
