Ferrari 575 Super Italia (hypothetically...)

Here is another fantasy build using Fujimi 575M. Since there have been many excellent 575s built already, I wanted to make something a little special. In this build, I mainly wanted to try two things: full-carbon finish using woman's tights and a rear pushrod suspension visible from interior. Suspension is a beautiful thing. Why hides it?

I modified the body here and there but nothing dramatic enough to ruin the overall shape of 575M. The stock rims were enlarged by fitting into Pegasus stepped sleeves. Rear fenders were also widened slightly to accommodate the wider wheels. Seat belts were from Tuner Model Manufacturer and they were quite nice to work with. The color scheme is inspired by Zonda R. I really like the contrast between black and gold. Tamiya paints were used throughout and the color strip was done by masking and airbrushing. This was supposed to be a quickie so I did not take any progress pictures. For photo shoot, I brought in 599 and 512 to brighten up the pictures because black is really a dull color.

Let pictures do the talking and thanks for watching.

That's gorgeous!

For the carbon I'll take a guess at base coat, then put the tights over the car and then sprayed the black or whatever over the top?

I didn't think regular 575 could look good, but you made me think differently.
I adore it, it looks so good, every single detail, but the wheels/body contrast....wow

That is a very creative interpretation of the 575. Beautiful work.

You have done a superb job, congratulations! The only thing you could add is a little black to the engine cover/fender gap.

Love it!

Re: Ferrari 575 Super Italia (hypothetically...)

Thank you all for the nicest comments.

Shelby 427 was right about how I prepared the carbon surface. I think I read about this trick somewhere on this forum. So, I first had a semi-black base coat before wrapping the body with woman tights. I stretched the tights until the size of mesh/sieve was about right. I then spray a light coat of a cocktail of silver and semi-black (I also added a hint of gold) over the tights. Small parts such as size mirrors were painted separately.

This technique is faster than decal, however, it is not perfect. It took me a few tries to figure out how much of the silver coat I needed to spray. Also, some corners and areas were trickier to cover with tights. As a result, the pattern is less consistent than decal.

@voyageur: You have a pair of sharp eyes! I thought I could get away with panel lines since the body is already in black.

Hi

You are using tights I´m speechless, it looks very special, great...!

Can you do a WIP to show how do this?
Which colour you used for the rims?

Regards,
Sascha
