Lookin to get new lowerin kit
Here is my dileo
I drive a 99 Civic Coupe EX in the states and Si in Canada. I live in canada, i don't want to drop it too much so that i can't drive it during the winter but also don't want it sitting as high as stock. Is there a compremise between the two? I'd like your help please. Are the Tokico's kits w/ shocks and springs any good for $310 plus shipping? for all four corners? Or what about just he Eiback Sportline or ProKit just springs set? about $195 plus shipping. Thanks for the help anyone could provide. While im at it, i play on getting either Motegi MR7 whites 17" or Racing Hart Z5000 White, they are the same price, but i also wonder what tire size to get to match so that the speedometer doesn't go wacko jacko on me. Thanks yall!@! |

I say go with the Eibach Pro-kit, the sportlines will drop the car more & you will need a camber kit. Also replace the shocks while your at it with a good set of aftermarket ones.
When you increase the rim size, you decrease the tire sidewall height. This is called plus-sizing & your speedo will only be a few 1/10th off. Check Whalentire.com , this place tells you what your speedo will read with different size tires, or contact Tire Rack!. Your link does not work properly |

I am running a Tokico HP shock and spring combo on my 99 Si, and Im pretty happy with it. Its a 1.75" drop, which is just about perfect for me, and the ride is pretty close to stock, handling is much better, so I really cant complain, overall im really happy with it.

sweetness thanks yall. sounds like the Tokico's aren't that bad after all. but considering prolly none of you have had harsh winters, would it be more wise to invest in adjustable coil overs? or just the standard tokico shocks and springs?

Are you talking about full coilovers or just those cheap sleeves like arospeed and ractive and companies like that make? I would never buy any of those, they have generally been known to be really crappy. I think you should be fine with the Tokico kit, the 1.75 drop wont put your car in too much danger, and I live in Seattle, it can get pretty nasty here too and Ive never had any problems.

It would be very wise to invest into a full set of adjustable coil-overs(spring-shock kit). They're not the cheapest thing but make sure to buy quality instead of some APC's or whatever.
Tokico Illumina are nice & fully adjustable - both rebound & bump Stick with the springs & shocks if you dont plan on racing or if you got $$$$ to burn. |

sounds like great advice yall. i have the money just rather not spend IF i don't have to. PLUS my ultimate goal is to have this car paid off in a year or so OR sell it back hehe... and use the cash as down payment for a new RX8 w/ speed body kit and new Racing Hart rims. muhahahahaha......... but im still waiting for customers to have RX8s and see what kind of reviews are out there, such as the WHP of a rotary engine that is rated at 247HP at crank and 159 lbs-ft o torq at 5500rpm. those numbers are pretty good, tho the torq could be better. But i heard the handling is just simply amazing.

Correct me if I am wrong . . . Isn't the new RX8 a 4-door 4seater - or so called 4-seater unlike the RX7 which was only a 2 seater?

Yeah. It's got suicide doors in the back. They open the wrong direction.
