Engine codes
Does anyone know where or how i can determine what my engine's code is? I have a '00 Civic EX coupe, but i don't know what type of engine code i have ? B16, B18, H22? I've looked through lots of posts but i can't quite figure this out. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Look on the transmisson in the engine bay, on the lower right part on it, next to the motor. It should tell you your engine code. It's listed there on all Civic?Integra engines. I think it's a Y8, can't remember if it's D17Y8 or D16Y8, I know honda started putting in D series 1.7 in civics around that time. But yea, check their, cuz it's in the engine bay. If you can't find it, just go and find someone who knows where it's at to point it out to you.

you have a D16Y8 motor

The d means you have a d series motor

The 16 means you got a 1.6 liter motor

The Y8 means you got the Y8 head which is the SOHC vtec motor.

some one correct me if i am wrong.

Mostly, B16A2 is our 92-95 civic VTi motor. The B16A4 I heard was the Canadian.

what motor is in the 96,97 del sol S coupe?
what's the engine code of the 1.6 non-vtec engine in the 96 and 97 civic del sol S coupes? anyone know? My guess is it's just the D16A6, but it wasn't listed and no one added it. Anybody know for sure? Let me know thanks.
