Auto ---> Manual

I know that new transmissions are kind of expensinve... my grandpa paid $1500 I think on an automatic replacement. Would it be hard to replace auto to manual?

I would assume so, considering that you will need a clutch installed and probably get your computer reporgrammed or chipped......

the shop im going to said it would cost a couple grand to convert if the motor wasnt already out of the car. but since im getting everything done with them, theyre only charging $600 for it. you will also need a bunch of parts that probably wont come with the transmission, siince youre not buying a front clip. stuff like the shift linkage, clutch and master/slave cylinder... as well as some other stuff that i dont know of, thats why theyre doing all the work.

Re: Re: Re: Auto ---> Manual

just sell your car and buy a manual. it's much less of a headache, and you don't have to worry about things that weren't meant to be there in the first place falling apart on you.

The thing is i paid 4 grand for it with all the extra's and i can easily sell it for 6-7 grand and buy a manual, but the thing is i would lose all the extra's and just replace all the extra's for stock parts would cost too much money and i would end up spending more money replacing all of them and buying a new car then just keeping the old one and converting it.

the reason why i got it for so cheap is that i know the guy personally and is a close friend of one of my friends so i basically got hooked up
