2003 Tahoe front clicking noise

I just purchased a 2003 Tahoe LS new. After driving it for about a week, I noticed when turning out of my driveway and other sharp slow speed turns, I hear a clicking noise from it appears to be the left front tire. I took it to the dealer and they said it was the steering stab. that needed lubrication. About two or three days later I am noticing the noise once again. Any advise?

Could be the Axel or the boot! Take it back to those f'ers and have them fix it.

MOre than likely, your problem is a well known problem with the steering shaft. The original fix was for the dealership to relube it but the problem would return within a year. My dealer told me they are now allowed to actually change out the shaft for a factory replacement. My recommendation is to have them perform an allignment after replacing the shaft. My 2003 Z71 Tahoe had a slight pull to the left and I had to take it back. All is great now. All of the above work should be covered under the warrenty.

i have exactly what you describe with my 2002 tahoe ls. i have been to 2 different dealers and they have put grease on the shock mount, did the steering intermediate shaft, and told me a control arm was loose.
none of this fixed my problem and its driving me nuts. anyone know what this could be ? HELP

Re: 2003 Tahoe front clicking noise

I had some time to look in my service information...take your truck back and tell the dealer to reference tech bulletin 03-03-08-002
It is in reference to front end noise caused by a shock insulator,
this may fix it.

Re: 2003 Tahoe front clicking noise

I have a 2002 Tahoe Z-71 and just had it in the shop to supposedly replace those shock insulators and now it is in the shop again having the front differential replaced. Might want to put yours in 4x4 and see if the noise is more pronounced. That is how I sort of figured my problem out!
