NOS vs ATI

Which is better and more practical for a car that drives 50-60 miles a day and why? The money is not the issue, the long run bang for the buck is the issue. Advise me.

Spray. Its not instant power like a blower is but you don't have to run 400 rwhp all the time. With mods like heads, cams, etc, you can run side by side with LS1s, and then, when you're facing a Z06, just hit the spray and blam, there you go.

Just make sure you do it in a moderate amount. Too much will kill your car, especially that plastic peice of intake you got.

A supercharger will be cheaper in the long run, not to mention WAY less maintenance. No re-filling bottles, no paying for Nitrous all the time.

Oh and please, it's N20, NOS is a brand name.

In the long run a Supercharger is cheaper and the power is there all the time. But the second fact may make nitrous a better answer for you. Even with a properly set-up supercharger it will cause more wear on your engine than not having a supercharger. Properly set-up nitrous will cause less wear over time cause you will never use it all the time.

Also ATI is awesome but warning. Because of the routing of thier set-ups you should expect another $500-$1000 in custom dyno tuning to get it to run properly. This is not the case with Vortech, Powerdyne, Paxton, etc..,

I agree with the comment about ATI. Their installation instructions are historically horrible, not to mention the installation, even if you know what you're doing is difficult due to the intercooler and all the rest of the components. Then you have to worry about not only their cheap tentioner, but their junky brackets bending. Also, they've had issues with bearings being too tight from the factory causing the entire charger to blow up and send metal chunks into the engine.

Couple that with poorly placed intercoolers causing overheating problems, and the iffy customer service, and you've got a supercharger company that I would avoid.

phear the Nawz!!!

personally, I'd go the allmotor route. Not to be a hardass but imo, it impresses me more to see a 2v do 10s NA over a 2v doing 10s with a blower or spray.

woo hoo, NOS or N2o whatever, you know what I mean. Also, I have heard great things about ATI and its service. Does an ATI really need that much custom tuning to get it to run right? How can I have my NA 2V run in the 10s or 11s and drive it everyday. Everyday is the key word here

If you still looking at superchargers. Vortech makes a really nice liqiud after-cooler set-up. It comes with bigger fuel, pump injectors, and custom burned chip for no problems. Real nice kit

The Better Business Bureau already has opened a case on ATI.

In short, ATI builds junk, and I would never recommend their product.

No way in hell are you going to hit 10s/11s with a 281 2v. Youd have to start off with a built block, stroke the engine, high C/R, shave alot of weight and were talking serious $$$ here but hey anythings possible. If you give me a PM I can tell you where you can get a Steeda kit, Vortech V-2 SQ or Paxton Novi2000 with a safe tune... no need for dyno tuning or buying injectors and its also cheaper than whats on Steedas website. Everything comes with it. The guys real cool, the reason why i dont have his kit is cause the Steeda tune is only for 5spds and also im holding out for a T-76 kit from Total Performance or PTK
