b20,

what a b20 come out of, i couldnt figure it out when i was trying to explain b16 vs b18 power and differences. So yeah, where do the b16 and b20s come from?

they come from honda. its a long story. has to do with the birds and the bees.

This really should have been posted as a sticky post in all Civic forums because it really applies to most of our cars...

There is a good section about B20's (CRV engines) in there, but I suggest reading the whole post too.

Let me say, the B20 is friggin awsome. Reminds me of my old SR20 motor.

if ya havent figured it out the B20 is out of the CRV and the b16 was available in a variety of cars that i dont care to divulge into right now.

thats the B20A1. they are generally referred to as the "crappy B series motor", but really they aren't "B" series at all, as far as everyone knows "b" series.

The B20 everybody refers to is the B20B/Z that came from the CRV engine.

the B16 came in a variety of cars. The JDM 88-91 CRX/Civic SiR, as well as the 90-93 Integra XSi. this was the venerable B16A. Later models of JDM cars included the newer models of SiR and some other which i dont know.

USDM B16 came out in only two cars: the 94-95 del sol VTEC had a B16A3 (OBDI), 96-97 del sol VTEC had a B16A2 (OBDII), and the 99-00 Civic Si had a B16A2 (OBDII)
