Thumbs up to b20 or not to b20 that is the question

hey i guys i have a 91 hf with a b16a from a 94 desol vtec also with p28 ecu n the b16a tranny, I love the motor at high rpms it just screams but pretty disapointed with the low end torque but its still not bad for a daily driver i was wondering what do you guys think would make more power, if i built up the b16 or just got a b20 bottom end? im pretty stuck i have about 1,000 dollars to spend and a shop here n sacramento said they would order the b20 botttom and install it for 950..OR shhould i start buildin up the internals in my b16. thanks for any help guys

Re: to b20 or not to b20 that is the question

The shop is gonna order you a B20 bottom AND build it with the B16 head for only 950? I dont know, B20/vtec and ls/vtec setups need to be done right, you cant really skimp when it comes to these builds. I personally dont think you should go b20/vtec when you only have a B16 and 1000 bucks. You'll just end up with a blown motor...my 2 cents, maybe stick with the B16 and build it?

They are going to order you a stock B20 bottom end, and its going to break.. It MUST be built up.
