Automatic Shift Knob Replacement

Does anyone know how to remove the automatic factory shift knob on a 2003 sunfire? I just don't like the way the thing looks...thanks!

yea I got a 99 and I cant stand it.. i would like to get another one to replace it.. still havent decided what color i want to do the interior (forest green exterior)

I figured it out, well on mine at least. THere's a pin on the back of the shift knob (facing the stereo) right above where the actual knob meets the stick. Just take a precision flat head and pull it out...it's like a u pin. After that, just slide the knob straight up.

I've decided to put in a Ichibahn Cruz in. I know it comes in different colors...maybe you can find something to match what you're looking for.

i found one that I kinda liked (T style) and when i talked to the person.. they said that you can only replace other t style ones with it.. is that true? mines more of a ball type thing...

and anyone that i look at they all install about the sameway (like 3 setscrews w/ allen wrench)

momo has a pretty slick one... a little on the pricey side (around $130 CDN), but well worth it. has a 1-year guarantee and it has the look of a stick shift knob. their model name for it is actually just automatic... it's on quite a few sites, but not too many of them ship to canada. i found it in a store in edmonton...
