Question Maaco Paint Jobs

I deer hit the side of my car in late Feb. and im looking now into getting the damages fixed for the least amount of money. I have a 94 Integra Ls Hatchback. I was thinking about just replacing the fender myself and having them smooth out the passenger side door which is very mildly damaged and then just getting a $350 or so paintjob. Anyone know how the painjob looks and holds up? any input would be great.

Also, on a little side question. How the hell do you put the back seat down in a 94 integra hatchback?

Peter Gibbons: Yeah.
Joanna: Won't you get fired?
Peter Gibbons: I don't know. But I really don't like it and, uh, I'm not gonna go.
Joanna: So you're gonna quit?
Peter Gibbons: Uh-uh. Not really. I'm just gonna stop going.
Joanna: When did you decide all that?
Peter Gibbons: About an hour ago.
Joanna: So you're going to get another job?
Peter Gibbons: I don't think I'll like another job.
Joanna: Well what are you going to do about money? Bills?
Peter Gibbons: You know I never really liked paying bills, I don't think I'm going to do that either

Please stay away from macco, it is a rip off the only decent paint jobs that come from there cost as much as any reputable shop. And on the top corner of the seat back it has a knob, pull this up and push the seat foward and there ya go.

I agree, I had my body kit painted at maaco and the front lip already started chipping after a year, not from hitting anything either. It'll cost ya if you're gonna get a good paint job.

You can't paint anything flexable(like fiberglass) with normal paint, Maaco just did it because you didn't specify. Their painting isn't the bad part BTW, it's their prep work that sucks. Things that flex require special paint or else it will just chip off, trust me this isn't maaco's fault. Well maybe it is because they didn't tell you this.

You don't have to use a special paint. All that is required to paint plastic is flex agent. That is what we call it anyway. I have a diplomia in ACR (automotive collision repair) so that is why I know why not to go to macco. Macco tries to get the cars out as fast as possible, so when they spray the felx agent on (if they even do it) they probably don't let it flash long enough, this will cause the paint not to chemically bond to the flex agent, thus making the paint crack and then peel off. And yes the two worst things about macco is the lack pf prep work and the fact that they wet sand and buff all the paint jobs to make them nice and smooth and shinny, but this takes away alot of the UV protectant which will cause the paint to dull or fade or even come off after a little time. Short answer macco will rip you off!

you really are better off finding a budy with a spray gun and buy your color paint. and see if it works out.

Would Maaco be worth it if I was just going to get another coat of the same color on my car? I just wanna get a new coat on my car cause its startin to crack/fade some and has a lot of little scratches. Would it be worth it to go there for that or will it start to crack and fade in another year with their paint job.

It's not the fact that maaco will rip you off, it's just you get what you pay for.
