Ls/vtec Turbo

Would and LS/Vtec turbo hit 13's to high 12's?? This is my planned set up a 99-00 ls motor with a 99-00 Gsr head. im going to port & polish the intake manifold along with the head and bore out the bottom of the motor to either a 1.9 or 2.0 litre. Then im going to run a Greddy turbo kit w/ intercooler and Blitz blow off valve. I would use a Blitz boost controller to bring it up to about one bar of boost or better. Can anyone tell me if this setup would work and if its worth the money and also if u may have any other ideas let me know! thanks

here are somethings you could do to your engine... but the 99-00 engine is OBD II, a 92-95 has OBD I.. the car is cheaper so you can afford to mod it more... these are some things I was looking at doing to the teg im about to buy

Engine
USDM 95 SPEC B18B1 Block
JDM SPEC B16A Head
USDM Integra Type R Intake Manifold
JDM Civic Type R Intake Cam
USDM Integra Type R Exhaust Cam
USDM Integra Type R Valve Springs
JDM Integra GSR Automatic Trans with Limited Slip Differential
JDM Civic Type R Valve Cover
Cat-back piping
USDM Integra Type R Muffler
Cam Gears
Fuel Rail
4-2-1 Ceramic Coated Headers
Modified Cool-Air intake system
Air filter
Spark plugs & wires

just look around.. read the threads

k, first off you would be an idiot to use a gsr head. they are way expensive and the water jackets dont match up. plus the gsr throtle body has three sensors where as the si or the type r has only two.

your best bet is to go with a type r head or a si head ported out to a type r spec and use a jg edlebrock intake man.

i know all this because i am a licenced honda tech and i curently am still working at lithia honda, i also dont drive a 91 civic. i drive a 95 gsr with a jdm spec motor that runs 13.2 in the 1/4. and trust me it has quite a few mods. im just on my friends user name.

i have a friend that has a totaly built ls/vtech and it kills me in the 1/4 and all around. the only thing it lacks is top end. your other prob is that you are using all obd2 stuff. obd1 is so much better. if it was me i would use the block from a 94-95 ls and a type r head with the gsr oil pump and lines, jg edlebrock intake man, skunk 2 valves and springs with ctr cams(civic type r). bottem end is not boost worthy if you run more than 7 psi you will detonate. go with JE pistons and closed rings, probably 9:1 compression. also if you are planing and squeezing (nos) i would change your head gasket to HKS. that is what i run in my gs-r and i squeeze a 110hp shot.

everything else is up to you, diferent people like diferent tones of intake and exauste.

Also,i hope you know how to work on integras well, because ls/vtec is not very dependable at all....a built gsr is much more reliable
