ok so i've been looking for cars in my area and i've found a LS VTEC swapped civic and a B18C1 swapped civic, my questions are...
1. Which would be better to turbo? (reliability wise) 2. The B18C1 civic is gonna cost me an extra 2,300$ more then the LS VTEC civic (the B18C1 has more work done to it, body/suspension wise) so is it worth paying the extra cash for it? or would i be better off buying the LS VTEC and saving 2,300$? Thanks in advance! |

Re: LS/VTEC turbo or B18C1 turbo
they both have their benefits...it depends on what is done to the LS/VTEC and how well it is built...personally i have a GSR right now, but when i build it, i'm going to use a B18b bottom end and my GSR head

Re: LS/VTEC turbo or B18C1 turbo
Meh, depends who built it and how well. IF you trust the guy with the ls/vtec then go for it.
for turbo? Well depends on your setup and power goals and your definition of reliability.. Save the 2,xxx and put it into the ls/vtec swaped car (if everything is built right) pull the oil pan and check for copper shavings, pull the valve cover check for cleanliness and do a compression test. Ask them if they did any machine work

Re: LS/VTEC turbo or B18C1 turbo
i would def go with the LS/Vtec. its got a slightly bigger bore and if its built well it will stay together. also find out what kind of head is on it. B16 or B18C? the B16 flow better. but you have to watch the valve over lap in a vtec, the turbo will suck the air right through the chamber. get some good turbo cams.
