Question gsr, or not to gsr

me and my dad are building a racecar we found a GSR for 1100 dollars with a blown motor (thrown rod) would it be better to just bore it out and rebuild it. or do the lsvtec thing with a new motor, keep in mind this is like a gran turismo track not a 1/4 mile.

i would say just get a new block and build it from there. boring it out isnt going to get much, and you would still have a block that has had rough times.

the ls/vtec can rev high also, but is also meant for people that know exactly what they are doing. there are a lot of things that can go wrong with that setup, so if you are looking for reliability, stay away from it.
