Hey sarge get a GSR, they are the best bang for their buck, they are the faster of the group. You can get a decent one for 3 G's.

2nd gen gsr is the quickest of the 3 gens. if u can get ur hands on one, i'd go for that...no questions asked.

u could not get a decent 92 gs-r for 3k...

you could get a hella bad condition one for 3k or a decent one for 4,500... ive bought 2 integras that were decent (90gs and a 91gs) and one was 3,200 and the other was 3,000... the 91 gs was in such insanely good condition omg i dont know why the seller sold it so cheap, if i had no clue about cars i would have thought it was a 2002. carpets and seats got shampoo'd, BRAND new paint job, engine compartment got steam cleaned - could eat off it.

I agree with 90GS here, you cannot get a good condition GSR for 3K. You can get a good LS for that. What are your long term plans? Do you want to go turbo? Or stay N/A? All 2G tegs are good, it is my favorite generation hands down. If you can get a 92-93, they are OBD 1 and are compatable with more aftermarket upgrades.

Question

What mods will help an LS be as bad ass as the gsr. And I am staying n/a. My base money is 3 K but i want to really either start with less and build up to 3 K. That is my wanted ceiling.

First you need to get an intake. Get a short ram, a cold air intake is not worth the extra money and also the risk of hydrolocking your engine. Then you need full exhaust - header, high flow cat, and a 2.25'' minimum size tubing cat-back exhaust. These mods MIGHT make you as fast as a bone stock GSR. I'm not sure because I don't know the gearing of those year GSR's. If they has much shorter gears than a GSR will still burn you.
After intake and exhaust, you might want to chip your ECU. Then get underdrive pulleys and cam gears. Next you might want to upgrade your clutch. Then focus on the intake manifold and throttle body and fuel system. After that get some better cams.
All those mods I listed will probably get you about 150 WHP, way plenty and more than enough to spank even a new GSR.
The clutch is really the weak link in a 2G teg. I had a 90 GS, that clutch slipped so bad with the mods I had I bet if I had a good one I would have run a full second less in the quarter. These are the mods I had on it: SRI/H/HFC/CBE, chipped ECU, fully rebuilt head with P&P + 5 angle competition valve job, crower cams, Nology plug wires, hipo coil, NGK plugs, 17'' motegi wheels, toyo tires, coil-overs, terminator 2 spoiler, red graphics on the side, the car was white. I sold it about a year ago BIG MISTAKE- that car had potential. I loved it but I needed the money. I was pushing 180 WHP, sucker was fast.

I should rephrase my question. I am not a tuner, and I really need a integra that is already modified, and is in the years I specified, and is in my price range. This will be my daily driver for a few years while I save for my sti. These are my goals, now can you folks help?

For an LS to be about the same speed as a GSR you need these simple mods- Intake, high flowing exhaust-IE header, HFC, cat-back, and a good clutch. That should get you close to a GSR.

I dunno much about the model you're planning to get, but I'm guessing it isn't much different from my 98 model. What really helped me out as soon as i first started tuning was my ecu. For $350 I sent mines over to JET. There's this SI around my block, it's pretty damn modified, I was able to take him by 2 and a half car lengths with just a full intake/exhaust setup and my ecu. Like i said, I dunno how your model will do but an ecu upgrade should be on your "Top 5 Things To Do First" list.

Absolutely, if you want to stick to all-motor than chipped ECU is a must. JET is good, they only make it from 92-up, not for 90-91 because 92-have OBD.

Not the guy that just replied, but the one before you are a moron. I am sure you are able to read. Please start at the top of the page and read my original question. Usually when someone states they are "rephrasing" something it means they already asked it before. And your are gravely mistaken about the year if you believe that there is little to no difference between a 90-92 Integra and a 98 integra. Hello knumbnutts!! Can I please only hear from people that can read and are not like this guy. Thanks for everyone elses help.

First, like i said, i was guessing since i dont know much about that year. Second, what i meant by "not much different than the 98 model", is that performance wise an ecu upgrade will help you out alot like it did for my model. Smart guy
