Newbie w/Questions

Hey Everyone,
First off, I wanted to respectfully introduce myself to this community as being a new member here. Secondly, great forum! I just found this place after conducting a brief search of information on this remarkable car. The amount of info here is awesome.
While I have read a bit about the Skyline over the past few years in car magazines I have never really seen a direct comparison of the Skyline, Lancer Evo and/or the WRX Sti. I thought I'd ask you guys what your thoughts are about these cars and in particular how the Skyline might stand apart from these other AWD turbos. As with most car comparisons, the numbers tell one story but the actual experience of driving each car often reveals much more. Has anyone ever had the pleasure of driving each of these cars? If so, what do you think?

All 3 cars you mentioned are great cars. I would have no problems having any of them in my garage.

All are very tuneable, and pretty big aftermarkets. It really comes down to personal choice.

I raced a Sti last month, very close. I did not talk to the guy to find if it was modded. I have seen EVO here, putting out over 450hp to the ground. Very impressive.

I can tell you that the GTR is an awesome ride, but so are the WRXs, and the EVOs. All 3 get my respect.

R32 GTRs just look better

Welcome to the boards

Each also have their strengths and weaknesses.
Such as weight, handling, cornering, power, braking, reliability, etc. You could write a huge story about it.

As Skyline USA and others have and will say it is all personal preferences. I've chosen the GTR over the others for my own personal reasons. At the end of the day you have to decide what your main plans are for the car and how deep your pockets are.

You can do searches in the Skyline forums on lots of different topics.

Is that magazine online anywhere? If I subscribe to one more car magazine, I think my wife would kill me.

The Skyline is an amazing car...so are the STi and Evo.
My mom just bought an STi and I drive it everyday to work while the skyline is being worked on. Stock for Stock the STi feels quicker and seems to handle better. It's also brand new and gives you the since that the technology is newer. It feels smoother. The skyline though, just a few mods and mom's Sti will never keep up. The potential is amazing that's why I am so happy with the Sky. It's a preference thing but you really can't go wrong with at least those two.
